BATIK
BATIK is a very ancient method that has been traced back more than 2000 years. The resist method of printing designs on textiles implies liquid wax that is applied with a brush, a sponge or a funnel that is used like a pen on the fabric. While the wax is drying it forms cracks that are a typical characteristic of the technique. The fabric can be dyed before and after the application of the wax that is removed at the end by dipping the fabric in hot water that's why batik is mostly done on cotton, Linen of synthetic fabrics that can resist the heat.
Batik is a fully handmade process where each piece will look different and unique.
